SCOPE
Sindh Journal of Animal Research (SJAR) is a biannual publication of Sindh Animal Research Foundation (SARF) and Mehran Veterinary Doctors Forum (MVDF). The Journal publishes original research findings, discussions or analysis in the form of full length articles, short communications and reports on various aspects of animal science i.e. animal diseases, animal reproduction, veterinary surgery and obstetrics, animal products, general physiology, veterinary pathology, veterinary pharmacology, veterinary microbiology, animal nutrition, animal husbandry, poultry husbandry, poultry health and products, fisheries and aquaculture, wild life and other interdisciplinary approaches to medicine. Publication are available online (ISSN requested) as well as print (ISSN requested). Finally, we will publish papers that meet rigorous criteria of excellence and innovation, while providing authors with prompt and expert editing and peer review.
AUTHORSHIP
Sindh journal of Animal Research is a biannual journal devoted to research and issues of strong interest to the animals. Authors should be aware from SJAR publication policy and manuscript should complies the following
We accept original research, as well as reviews, perspectives and commentaries.
- Topics suitable for submission include any original research findings, discussions or analyses that move the field closer to the goal of improving animal health, or the farming of animals.
- Interdisciplinary approaches are particularly encouraged, for example, studies at the interface of animal science.
- All the authors should be notified by the corresponding/ submitting about submission, list and order of authors of the manuscript.
- It is assumed that all authors accept the list and order of authors and agree to the contents of manuscript and are responsible for validity of the data.
MANUSCRIPT
The work should be original research papers that represent significant advances in animal husbandry, veterinary science, fisheries and marine sciences and wild life. The manuscript file should be in MS Word format, typed in ‘Times New Roman’ with 12 font size, 1.5 spaced on A4 paper with one inch margin on each side. Manuscripts should be prepared according to category, Where available, URLs for the references must be provided, all illustrations, figures, and tables are not placed within the text, rather than at the end.
Elements of a manuscript
A full length article should include abstract, introduction, materials and methods results, discussion, conflict of interest statement, acknowledgments, references, figures and tables and supplementary data. Exceptionally some of the manuscript categories don’t require all these titles, requirement for each category is mentioned in categories of manuscript section. Elements of manuscript should be in as follows.
TITLE
Title should be on separate page including title, author names, affiliations and address of corresponding author. Title should be brief, specific, informative no more than 20 words, no abbreviations used. Author names should be written completely as First name, second name and last name, corresponding author should be underlined. Affiliations of all the authors should be mentioned with superscription (1, 2, 3…n) and each should be written on title page. Contact no and email address of corresponding author should be written for further correspondence.
ABSTRACT
Abstract should be on separate page with maximum 5 suitable keywords (in alphabetical order) at the end. Abstract should briefly mention objective of research, brief methodology, main results and a conclusion.
INTRODUCTION
Importance and essential background, objectives of the study and novelty of your work should be discussed under the heading of introduction. It should be brief and clearly elaborate the topic.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
This section should clearly mention the design of experimental trails, materials used and techniques used. Data collection, processing and analysis by suitable statistical methods should be mentioned in detail, along with level of significance used.
RESULTS
Results should be presented concisely in the form of Tables or Figures (not both for a single parameter), Tables and figures should be described in the text with reference to the relevant table or figure.
DISCUSSION
It should be comprehensive elaboration of research findings, comparison and relation with the findings of previous researches. References or solid scientific reasons for contradiction with previous studies should be included. Irrelevant comparisons and contrasts should be avoided only results should be discussed.
CONCLUSION
This section should briefly state the main findings and suggestions of the study.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST
All authors should disclose their conflict of interest, i.e., (1) financial relationships such as employment, consultancy, stock ownership, honorarium, paid expert testimony, (2) personal relationship, (3) academic competition, and (4) intellectual passion. These conflicts of interests must be included in the end of manuscript.
ANIMAL ETHICS
Animal ethics laws should be considered and declared separately including protocol and procedures applied were ethically reviewed and approved further the behavior, housing and slaughtering of animals were according to relevant institutional and national guidelines for care and use of animals.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The work should be acknowledged by the authors, all the team members, facilitators, institutes and funding sources should be acknowledgment.
REFERENCES
References should be arranged in alphabetical order by the first author’s surname, and number the entries consecutively. The cited references in the text should be cited by their list number. Cite each listed reference in the text by number in small brackets. Different reference styles are as follows

The following types of references are not valid for listing: unpublished data, personal communication, manuscripts in preparation or submitted, pamphlets, proceedings, abstracts, patents, newsletters, website, in press and material that has not been subjected to peer review. However, article(s) that can be available in Medline/PubMed and SCOPUS can be used as reference(s).
TABLES AND FIGURES
Tables and Figures should be documented in the last after references. Each table and figure should be captioned with numbers and title (e.g. Table 1 Title or Figure 1 Title). Black and white figures (diagrams and photographs) should be published in normal publishing cost while colored figures should be charged according to prescribed plan. Tables and figures should be prepared in consistent format. Abbreviations, description and useful information should be written below table/ figure.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The manuscript has not been previously published, nor in consideration with another journal. Manuscript should be submitted online or by mail directly to the Editor SJAR at editor.sindhjar@gmail.com, submission list include:
- Cover letter to the editor
- Highlights (single page, 5-10 points in bullet form)
- Manuscript (Abstract, Introduction, Material and methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Conflict of interest statement, Acknowledgments)
- Supplementary data
Reviewer list
Provide three potential reviewers (two of them must be international), list their names, affiliation and contact information including a valid email address.
PUBLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Plagiarism
All received manuscripts are processed through “Turnitin”. Similarity Index should be less than 18% for successful publication.
Publication fees
Manuscript having similarity index < 18%, once accepted after peer review process will be accepted for publication. Publication fees should be charged for only accepted manuscripts as follows.
